Are you a beer lover? Then make sure you schedule a visit to the San Francisco Brewing Co, in Ghirardelli Square, for a beer tasting. Their handcrafted beer is excellent!

Take a selfie with the “Painted Ladies”

The “Painted Ladies” are a colorful row of Edwardian and Victorian houses on Alamo Square. You may also know them as the Seven Sisters.

They have become a highly recognizable and iconic piece of architecture known synonymously with San Francisco. Their popularity could be linked to them being featured in popular tv shows, such as Full House and Monk.

Navigating the streets of San Francisco on foot can be very time-consuming and tiring, due to its steep hills. A great way to make sure you get to see all of the top city sights is to book a bus tour. Big Bus Tour has multiple ticket options for their hop-on hop-off tour.

You don´t want to return home without at least getting a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street and Chinatown.

Visit a Winery

San Francisco is conveniently located close to Napa Valley and Sonoma, both part of wine country, home to many premium wineries. There are a few different day tours available from the city center. You will be able to find something suited to your dates on Viator.

Generally, you can expect to be taken by a small coach to multiple vineyards throughout the day to taste their home-grown wine and learn about how it is cultivated. Some tours also include a stop-off at Muir Woods, which has giant redwoods that are more than 150 years old!

It’s a really fun day out, even if you aren´t a massive wine fan.

Trip to Alcatraz Island

An absolute must for any first-time trip to San Francisco is a tour of the world-famous prisoner island, Alcatraz.

Boats leave from Pier 33 and take you directly to the cell house, which was in operation from 1934 to 1963. Once there you can tour the island and prison to discover what the cells were like, where the prisoners ate, and more including some of its mysteries.

Before or after touring the island be sure to visit Pier 39, a few piers east, for an animal surprise.
